Bringing Light to the Past:

The Story of Northern California Italians During World War II

Tuesday, March 25th 7:00 PM

Casa Fugazi, Large Heritage Room, 3rd Floor
678 Green Street, San Francisco’s Historic North Beach

Be our guest for a riveting, fast-paced presentation by Christina Olivolo Sauvageau, Le Donne d’Italia Historian of Italian Internment, as she shares the personal stories of Italians in Northern California during 1942.

Christina’s meticulous research, including the examination of every FBI arrest report and investigation stored at the National Archives in San Bruno, has led her to astounding discoveries—not only about experiences at the Sharp Park Detention Camp but also the impacts these events had on the Italian-American community during that time.

For many years, the stigma surrounding how this generation was treated kept these stories buried and seldom shared openly. Through historic photos and compelling narratives, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of this challenging time and the impacts you can still see today.

Bring a guest and share in this important piece of our Italian-American heritage.

RSVPs are FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
