The Consulate General of Italy in San Francisco was thrilled to be part of the San Francisco Giants (@sfgiants) Italian Heritage Night at Oracle Park (@oraclepark) on July 9th. We want to extend our sincere thanks to the gracious host, Italian-American Stephen Revetria, President of the SF Giants.
It was an honor for Consul General Sergio Strozzi to represent Italy on the field, sharing insights about our vibrant community and exciting initiatives like Innovit - Italian Innovation and Culture Hub (@innovitsf) and the San Francisco Little Italy Honor Walk. Our Deputy Consul General Davide Corriero even threw out the ceremonial first pitch!
We're proud of the strong Italian presence in the Bay Area and look forward to many more collaborations!

Festa Italiana 2024
The SFIAC Foundation hosted Festa Italiana San Francisco's only Italian street fair. Thousands showed up for the two day family affair featuring Italian vendors, food, drink and entertainment. We were thrilled to welcome headliners singer Vanessa Racci and world renowned accordionist Cory Pesaturo.
Italian Day Celebration
The Consulate General of Italy in San Francisco Sergio Strozzi hosted a celebration of Italian National Day. Representatives of the Italian community socialized and enjoyed delicacies from Bay Area Italian chefs. The creation of the San Francisco Little Italy Honor Walk www.sflittleitaly.it was announced.
103rd Statuto Race
The San Francisco Italian Athletic Club Foundation hosted the 103rd Statuto Race. 492 participated in the 8k run and 2k walk through North Beach and the Embarcadero.
Deep pain inflicted on Italian-American community by San Francisco's statue removal
The Bay Area Italian-American community is disappointed by the removal of the Christopher Columbus statue, which has served as a symbol of pride for our contributions to San Francisco and the nation. In fact, the Columbus statue was erected in part to address the fierce prejudice and widespread discrimination Italian-Americans faced in America in the early 20th century.
Italian American Heritage Day Established by CIAO Bay Area
On Tuesday, in a 10-1 vote, the Board of Supervisors selected a day to honor Italian-Americans and indigenous people. The change was made after members of the North Beach community voiced concerns over the removal of Columbus Day as a locally recognized holiday.
